Cherry Ann Davis - Branding

Branding for Designer / Illustrator Cherry Ann Davis

Cherry Ann Davis is a blossoming designer from Trinidad and Tobago, who experiments with the basic elements of design, particularly line. With her illustrations she delves into the genesis of design and patterns by manipulating line to create form. Her forms created by patterns and line provides the rhythmic nuances that calms her and the viewer.

International Reggae Poster Contest

I entered the 2nd International Reggae Poster Contest and had a really great time creating these Posters. The interesting part of the creation process was illustrating the posters almost entirely on my ipad in a an application called Adobe ideas. My designs did not make it to the top 100 selected posters but that I am thankful for the opportunity to create. You can find out more about the contest and view the winners here.

Protest Animation

Protest is seasoned in local vernacular and tells the story of protesting through the eyes of the unsuspecting trini. It reflects the cultural nuances of Trinidad and Tobago through the creative expressions of the spoken word. The call and response element of the storyteller to his audience is invoked by the line at the end of each situation “Protest, dat is Protest”. The marriage of the animation and the spoken word engages a wider viewership as they are immersed into the experiences of the protagonist. The story includes characters created by storyteller Taharqa Obika and to be illustrated by Seon Thompson. These Characters are central to everyday life for many a Trinbagonian. I have been working on this for quite some time now and finally I am getting a bit more time to get it done. I would be putting up images of my process as I go along so stay tuned.

Keshorn Walcott - Laptop Skin & Wallpaper design

I was contracted by UTT to design a laptop skin for Keshorn Walcott. The inspiration for the design came from my 50 Proud Project where I used a minimalist approach to representing the subject. I really appreciated the opportunity to celebrate Keshorn's achievement through my work.

The Making of The Bah Johns

So every time I show people my Bah John key-chains they always ask me 'how were they made' This video was actually done more than a year ago and was sitting on a hard drive somewhere so I finally decided to pull it out and show you a little inside into how it all came together for the Bah Johns.

This Poster was in the making for quite some time. I got inspired after viewing a documentary on him created by my friend Tamara Tam-Cruickshank. This is just my tribute to him. Enjoy!!!
